KENYA – Kenchic has introduced Kenbeef, a new line of premium beef cuts and processed beef products.
Kenbeef’s premium selection includes top-quality cuts such as ribeye and sirloin, designed to satisfy consumers who seek superior beef for their meals.
Additionally, Kenbeef offers an array of further processed beef items like sausages, burger patties, and boerewors, providing easy-to-prepare options for home cooks.
These products are now available at all major supermarkets, convenience stores, and Kenchic butcheries.
The company, which has long been associated with poultry products, has set a strategic expansion aimed to cater to the changing tastes of their valued customers and add more value to their purchases.
Jim Tozer, the Managing Director of Kenchic, expressed his enthusiasm about the launch, stating, “The introduction of Kenbeef represents a significant milestone in our ongoing journey of innovation and sustainable growth. Our commitment to quality and customer satisfaction is unwavering, and we are confident that Kenbeef will become a staple in the beef market. By collaborating with farmers who prioritize animal welfare and environmental responsibility, we underscore our dedication to sustainability and offer our customers a responsible choice.”
Kenchic’s decision to introduce Kenbeef comes at an opportune time, as the beef industry in Kenya is experiencing significant growth.
According to Statista, the revenue in Kenya’s meat market is projected to reach US$10.24 billion in 2024, with an annual growth rate of 10.51% expected from 2024 to 2029.
The market volume is anticipated to reach 1.509 billion kilograms by 2029, with a projected volume growth of 5.8% in 2025.
Kenya has also been implementing initiatives to enhance beef production and take the beef industry to a whole new level.
Late last year, the Kenya Agricultural and Livestock Research Organization (KALRO) launched a program to promote cross-breeding, aiming to address a shortfall of 40,000 tonnes in the domestic market.
This initiative targets livestock farmers in arid and semi-arid regions, with the potential to bridge the gap between the current production of 260,000 tonnes and the market demand of 300,000 tonnes.
