KENYA – Pullman Hotels and Resorts, a world-leading premium brand by Accor, has opened the first-ever Pullman Accor branded hotel in Kenya and the East Africa region in Upper Hill Nairobi.
During the launch, PS Tourism John Ololtuaa, who was the Chief Guest, said the ministry will support investors who create job opportunities for locals as this aligns with the government’s bottom-up economic transformation agenda (BETA).
The PS also asked the investors to utilize other opportunities in the hospitality industry, including MICE.
Featuring contemporary design and flexible spaces that seamlessly blend productive workspaces with vibrant social areas, Pullman Hotel Nairobi Upper Hill aims to redefine premium hospitality in the region as the first-ever Pullman branded address in East Africa.
The hotel presents a modern haven with 162 meticulously designed rooms, complemented by a lobby bar—the Junction — that inspires connection, moments of focus, and social interactions and an all-day brasserie dining restaurant, the Dispatch.
Guests can also stay on top of their game with a well-equipped fitness center and an outdoor pool. The hotel boasts state-of-the-art meeting and event spaces catering to small and large groups, setting the stage for unparalleled business and leisure experiences.
Ms. Susan Waringa, Director of Sales and Marketing, shares, “We’re excited about the opening of Pullman Hotel Nairobi Upper Hill, catering to the needs of the hyper-connected business and leisure traveler.
“We aim to provide a comprehensive hospitality experience centered around work and leisure. With a focus on immersive art & design, happening food and beverage, power fitness, and smart interaction, we’re poised to offer dynamic services and experiences.”
In addition, Pullman Nairobi Upper Hill is offering traditional hospitality services and embracing the concept of “hospitality” under the co-working spaces brand WOJO.
This innovative approach combines workspace and hospitality to cater to the changing demands of modern travelers and professionals. “Workspitality” focuses on creating a productive and interactive work environment by emphasizing comfort, convenience, and community within the workspace.
The hospitality industry stands as one of Kenya’s top three revenue generators, consistently delivering impressive results year after year.
Notably, the accommodation and food services sector saw remarkable growth, surging by 26 percent in the third quarter of 2023, a significant increase from the previous year’s 17 percent.
With its substantial revenue contribution, the hospitality industry plays a central role in funding Kenya’s development agenda, reflecting its critical position in Kenya’s economic landscape.
As a leading player in the upscale segment, Pullman’s entry into the Kenyan market signals a new era of well-balanced hospitality, attracting discerning travelers and bolstering the country’s tourism sector.
Kenya’s vibrant culture and natural beauty make it an attractive destination for local and international tourists. Pullman Nairobi Upper Hill is poised to complement this offering with its world-class amenities and personalized service.
