SINGAPORE — Wyndham Hotels & Resorts has signed more than 120 hotels, opened 74 new hotels, and registered 8% year-over-year net room growth, equivalent to 15,100 rooms, according to their financial report for the first half of 2024.

Wyndham is the world’s largest hotel franchising company, with 25 brands and approximately 9,200 hotels. It has registered record growth across Asia Pacific.

Wyndham’s strong performance, including a record number of signings in the region, is underpinned by the return of travel across the Asia Pacific and positions the Company for continued growth.

According to the International Air Transport Association, total global passenger demand rose 11% compared to May 2023.

In particular, Asia Pacific recorded the highest growth of international passenger traffic, at 27%, with Asian routes sustaining double-digit growth, exemplifying the continual demand for international travel both within and from the region.

The Pacific Asia Travel Association has also projected that international visitor arrivals into Asia will continue trending upwards to the 2019 level by the end of 2026.

Intra-regional solid demand, the relaxation of Chinese visa policies, and the rapid recovery of China’s domestic tourism highlight the upward trajectory for the Asia Pacific travel and hospitality industry.

In the first half of 2024, Wyndham saw a 22% increase in the number of hotels signed across Asia Pacific compared to 2023, driven by strong growth in Mainland China, where the Company signed 104 hotels.

Moreover, with 74 hotels opened in the first half of 2024 in Asia Pacific, the Company generated 8% Y-O-Y net room growth within the region.

Growth across the Asia Pacific region builds on Wyndham’s mission of making hotel travel possible for all. With world-class operations, marketing, distribution, and other resources designed to lead owners to success, owners benefit from the Wyndham Advantage.
