INDIA – India-based restaurant chain Ohri’s Group has announced the opening of the Tansen restaurant in Hyderabad, Telangana.

The new dining establishment draws inspiration from the Indian classical musician Tansen and the culinary traditions of the Mughal era and the Northwestern Frontier.

It offers a range of dishes such as Sundried Tomato & Smoked Cheese Kulcha and Hyderabadi Marag.

Main course offerings include Green Chicken Curry and Pathar-ka-Gosht.

The menu combines Middle Eastern and Indian tastes, with dishes including the Edamame & Green Peas Kebab, and Pepper Fish, along with Applewood Smoked Pineapple Chutney.

The restaurant features flowing water, live Sufi music and decor similar to those of India’s historic Mughal courts. The service at Tansen is influenced by Urdu poetry.

“At Tansen, we immerse you in a world where the opulence of the Mughal era meets the rich culinary heritage of the North-Western Frontier. We draw our inspiration from the legendary musician Tansen,” Ohri’s Group owner Amar Ohri said.

Here, the rich culinary traditions of the Mughal era blend seamlessly with contemporary dining, resulting in a celebration of flavours that embody history, creativity and the pure pleasure of gastronomy.

“Tansen represents a fusion of tradition and innovation, creating a mosaic of tastes that excite the palate and leave a lasting impression on all who dine with us. We hope to continue to serve our guests with great experiences and smiling faces.”

In February 2024, Ohri’s Group celebrated the opening of Mings&Mee, which specialises in Pan Asian cuisine.

The chain has a range of restaurants across Hyderabad, including Gufaa, Mings&Mee and Serengeti.
