USA-Fast food giant KFC has added three new US$5 value deals to its Taste of KFC Menu across its outlets as a means of appealing to cash-strapped customers.  

The three new value deals cover KFC Chicken Nuggets, the Famous Bowl with KFC Chicken Nuggets, and a Two-Piece Drum & Thigh combo. The deals are accessible on the KFC website, app and in-store outlets. 

The value deals are a continuation of the company’s commitment to offer value to its customers, through expanding its affordable menu options.  

The new US$5 value deal compliments the US$10 Tuesdays value deal that features eight pieces of chicken drums and thighs which features on the Taste of KFC Menu. It also complements the US$20 Family Deal, which features six chicken pieces, four individual sides and four biscuits, also featuring on the menu. 

The Taste of KFC Menu also features the 40-piece Saucy Nuggets Party Pack, the Sandwich plus Nuggets Meal for Two, the Five-Piece Chicken on the Bone Meal for Two, and a 50% discount on Chicken Sandwiches. 

The value deal approach to the menu is a continuation of the fast food giant’s response to the current challenging QSR environment. High inflation has increased cost pressure on QSR chains as the cost of ingredients and raw materials continue to soar, translated to customers. 

This cost pressure has stifled demand, causing many players to resort to value deals, price reductions or diversifying their menu offerings. 

Competitors like McDonald’s, Taco Bell, Burger King, Wendy’s, and Jimmy John’s have also launched value deals as a response to this challenging market environment. Budget-friendly meals and menus are meant to cause a market correction to stifled demand by attracting customers put off by high prices.  

Nick Chaves, KFC’s Chief Marketing Officer, said, “As customers are looking for more value from brands, we’re expanding our Taste of KFC lineup with new KFC fan favorites like our nuggets and Famous Bowls, each for just $5.” 

“These Taste of KFC Deals offer three choices – with something for everyone – at an incredible price.” 

The new value deal was announced barely a few days after KFC revealed it had expanded its Saucy Nuggets range by adding three new flavours.
