USA- Fast food giant Popeyes has announced the appointment of Matt Rubin as Chief Digital Officer (CDO) and Bart LaCount as Chief Marketing Officer (CMO) for its North American operations.

The appointments follows the recent appointment of Jeff Klein, former CMO, as President.

LaCount will lead the company’s marketing efforts and initiatives meant to drive volumes in line with Popeyes’ ‘Easy To Love’ strategy. The new CMO boasts two decades experience in marketing, having previously served as PepsiCo’s Vice President of International Beverages.

He led marketing efforts for PepsiCo’s hydration and energy products in international markets, more so for the company’s Sting and Gatorade brands.

He also held senior leadership positions at Ford Motors.

Rubin will lead Popeyes’ digital and technological transformation strategy, with a prime focus on enhancing customer experience and operational efficiency through technological and digital transformation.

Rubin boasts more than eight years of experience in the food and beverage industry. He served in senior leadership roles in Restaurant Brands International, holding positions in marketing, business development and digital transformation.

According to Popeyes, Rubin’s prior experience is proof of his ability and success in merging QSR operations with digital technologies.

His appointment comes at a time when many QSR brands are embracing technology and diverting resources towards incorporating advances like AI, cloud computing and robotics in daily operations.

This trend enhances efficiency through intricate real-time data analysis to assess and continuously improve operations, optimize waste and effective information storage.

Jeff Klein welcomed LaCount’s appointment by saying, “Bart brings an incredibly well-rounded marketing background to this role as we look to deepen brand relevance in communities where we are loved and expand relevance where Popeyes should be better known.”

The Popeyes President also welcomed the new CDO’s appointment, reiterating the value his track record, expertise and skills in implementing effective digital transformation strategies will add to the company.

Klein added, “Matt is a proven leader at Popeyes with a track record of driving results. I am excited that Matt is taking on this expanded role and will be able to innovate even more to create a modern digital ecosystem across Popeyes.”
