CANADA- Chicken and sandwich restaurant giant Chick-fil-A has opened a new outlet in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada.

The new restaurant, which opened on August 15, is located at West Edmonton Mall. It will be open from 10 am to 9 pm Monday through Thursday for both pick-up and dine-in.

Karleen Rhodes was selected as the independent franchised operator of the outlet.

Rhodes will be responsible for the restaurant’s daily operations, including employing 100 full—and part-time employees. She will also cultivate meaningful relationships with local suppliers and businesses.

During the outlet’s launch, the QSR chain praised her experience and expertise in managing restaurant chains.

She studied business management at Grant MacEwan University in Edmonton. She then held senior roles at various sales and marketing companies before becoming a restaurateur at a local restaurant chain.

Rhodes expressed enthusiasm and optimism over the move, reiterating the unique opportunity it provides to bring customers the unique Chick-fil-A experience.

Rhodes said, “We are thrilled at the response from Albertans who are excited for Chick-fil-A. I am really honoured to bring Chick-fil-A’s delicious food and signature hospitality to Edmonton, and can’t wait for everyone to enjoy their first bites.”

Chick-fil-A expressed confidence over the new outlet and Rhodes’ selection as owner-operator. The company expressed faith in Rhodes’ ability to continue cultivating and fostering a culture of growth.

Rhodes also expressed her intention to continue with the QSR chain’s focus on serving customers with great-tasting food made with quality ingredients.

The new restaurant will continue with the company’s culture of hand-preparing menu items daily.

The new outlet will also participate in the Chick-fil-A Shared Table™ program, an initiative meant to redirect surplus food from participating Chick-fil-A restaurants to local homeless shelters, soup kitchens, food banks and non-profits meant to feed the needy

Rhodes reiterated such initiatives are central to her approach to managing the new outlet.

Rhodes continued, “Donating surplus through Chick-fil-A Shared Table is just one of the ways I plan to support and give back to the Edmonton community. My hope is to show care and help address food insecurity right here at home.”
