AUSTRALIA- QSR chain Domino’s Pizza has appointed Kerri Hayman as the first-ever female CEO of its Australia and New Zealand (ANZ) division.
Hayman will replace outgoing CEO, David Burness. She has been the CEO of the chain’s ANZ division since October 2023.
She began her career in the QSR sector as a pizza maker in the late 1980s. She got her foot in the door by working for her brother, Donald Meij before he became Group CEO and Managing Director of Domino’s Enterprises.
Kerri went on to serve as operations director for the UK-listed Domino’s Pizza Group. She also became the franchisee of 14 Domino’s Pizza outlets across the United States.
She welcomed her appointment, expressing enthusiasm and gratitude for her new role.
Hayman said in a statement, “Having grown up in the business here in Australia from a young age, it is such an honour to be stepping into the CEO role.“
“We have so many passionate Franchise partners and team members in ANZ, and I feel honoured to work alongside each and every one.“
The new CEO hailed her experience working with Domino’s in Australia and beyond. She particularly alluded to her experience working with her brother and many other ‘team members‘ who became the pizza chain’s most successful and longest-serving franchise partners in the ANZ region.
Kerri also expressed confidence in her ability to lead the QSR chain. She lauded her experience as a team member in low-tier roles, in operations and higher-tier roles, which she describes has fostered enormous empathy for the challenges and rewards that come with running a successful QSR chain.
Hayman also revealed she intends to prioritize product quality and service delivery. She intends to work tirelessly with team members to launch new products, optimize processes and deliver the best value possible to customers.
Jack Cowin, Domino’s Pizza’s Chairman for the ANZ region, said, “With Kerri’s appointment, [she is] the best person for the job.”
“The Board of Directors are thrilled that Domino’s provides an unrivalled opportunity to help team members grow and prosper, whether it’s a part-time job, as an award-winning franchise partner, an executive – or all three.”
