USA- The largest fast food chain in the world, McDonald’s, has appointed Tiffanie Boyd as its new Executive Vice President and Global Chief People Officer. 

Tiffany Boyd replaces Heidi Capozzi, who resigned from McDonald’s in late July to pursue other opportunities.  

She served as Senior Vice President and Chief People Officer US at the fast food giant before her appointment. She joined the company in January 2021.  

Under her leadership as McDonald’s Senior VP and CPO US, the chain’s US operations reached record levels of employee retention, training, employee engagement, training and roster size.  

According to the QSR giant, she implemented ‘safe, respectful, inclusive’ workplace standards across the system and has improved talent management through initiatives like leadership education, career planning tools, and succession planning processes. 

Boyd boasts close to thirty years of experience in human resources in the retail and QSR sectors. She holds an MBA in Organizational Behavior from Ross School of Business, University of Michigan. 

She joined McDonald’s from General Mills, where she worked for 23 years. Prior to her appointment at McDonald’s, she was the food manufacturer’s Vice President of Human Resources for North American Retail. 

During her time at General Mills, Boyd focused on customer engagement and culture change. 

In her new role, she will oversee the fast food giant’s global human resource operations, including talent management, talent acquisition and retention, total rewards, (TLD) training, learning, and development, (DEI) diversity, equity, and inclusion, and organization effectiveness. 

McDonald’s has welcomed the move, praising Boyd’s experience working with the fast-food giant and her track record in human resource management and driving cultural change. 

Chris Kempczinski, McDonald’s Chairman and CEO, said, “Tiffanie is an exceptional HR leader who understands that great people are the bedrock of McDonald’s business.” 

“Since she joined the company a few years ago, Tiffanie has quickly established herself as a collaborative, value-driven leader who has championed several transformational programs like our people Brand Standards and talent development initiatives.” 

Shammara Howell, the current Vice president and Chief Field People Officer US, will serve as interim CPO to ensure a smooth transition.
