USA- The world’s largest chicken sandwich restaurant chain, Chick-fil-A, has launched its latest innovation, the elevated drive-thru restaurant meant to enhance customer service efficiency.

The new restaurant concept is located south of metro Atlanta.

It will feature a food delivery system with four drive thru lanes fitted with a conveyor belt at the point of access that transports orders directly from the kitchen to the customer. This four lane layout can accommodate three times more vehicles than a standard Chick-fil-A outlet.

According to the chicken sandwich chain, the elevated chicken is twice the size of a conventional Chick-fil-A outlet and enables orders to be delivered every six seconds.

The other major difference between the elevated drive thru and the standard Chick-fil-A outlet is it does not feature dine-in services.

Customers have two options for meal collection. The first is pre-ordering through the chain’s app and use the dedicated mobile through lanes. The second option is ordering directly from an employee in the traditional lanes.

The chain welcomed the move, reiterating the innovation will go a long way in providing a unique experience to customers.

Jonathan Reed, Chick-fil-A’s Executive Director of Design, said, “Our guests lead busy lives, and we’re focused on designing our restaurants to best serve their needs.”

“With the new elevated four-lane drive-through design […] we’re aiming to deliver quality food and genuine hospitality in a way that’s uniquely Chick-fil-A and gives our guests time back in their day.”

The new concept is a part of the chain’s strategy of catering to the needs of on-the-go guests. It follows the recent opening of a mobile pickup location in New York.

Chick-fil-A appointed Brett Lewis, an operator since 2019 to be the owner-operator of the new concept. He will oversee all operations of the concept, from customer service, community engagement and managing the 150 fulltime and part time team members.

Bret Lewis welcomed the move by saying, “As a local business owner, I look forward to learning how to best serve the community I grew up in and working alongside my team members as we create a one-of-a-kind drive-through experience for our guests.”
