UK- Coffeehouse chain Costa Coffee has reopened its refurbished store in Billericay, England, as part of its expansion strategy.

The refurbished outlet features technological upgrades meant to enhance customer experience and reduce workload on employees. It is located at 76/78 High Street, the store now features locally inspired artwork and new decor.

It features a touchscreen ordering system using a seamless customer input interface. It also features a dedicated collection point for seamless order pick up as well as a new interior design.

The touchscreen and collection points are connected via an intra-network, which makes for quick service. It is intended to reduce waiting times by 3 minutes.

These technological upgrades are enhanced by a new counter and modern seating design for customers who desire to stay and enjoy their beverages on location.

It also includes additional charging points throughout the outlet, which according to the chain, is intended to cater to the needs of remote workers and customers seeking to hold social gatherings at the outlet.

Apart from the design and technological upgrades, the coffeehouse chain also features a broadened menu- an expanded range of freshly baked bakery items. This expanded menu includes pastries like Cheese Twists and Pain au Chocolat, which pair well with handcrafted coffee.

David Gabsi, Costa Coffee’s Area Manager, said, “We’re excited to welcome the local community to our newly transformed Billericay store.”

“With a fresh bakery range, state-of-the-art touchscreen ordering, and a vibrant new interior, our uplifted Billericay store is a perfect spot for customers to relax, connect and enjoy a delicious cup of Costa coffee.”

The refurbished outlet is a continuation of Costa Coffee’s expansion strategy, which includes opening new outlets and refurbishing old ones. The new outlets also feature modern designs and technological upgrades.

Earlier this month, the coffeehouse chain reopened its overhauled outlet on Exter High Street, which also features modern aesthetics and technological upgrades.

The Exeter location was redesigned to reflect local influences, incorporating artwork inspired by the area. Along with its aesthetic improvements, the store now includes a dedicated pickup area for customers on the go.
