USA– Multinational fast food chain Subway has launched a new value deal offering a footlong sandwich for US$6.99.
The deal is available until September 8. It includes a selection of flavorful ingredients to accompany the footlong sandwiches.
Customers are required to enter the promo code 699FL when ordering via the chain’s website or app to take advantage of the offer.
The move is part of the retail chain’s promotion and value deal strategy, which aims to attract customers in a challenging QSR market.
High inflation has significantly increased cost pressure on QSR chains in the past few years, translating to increased prices. Cash-strapped customers have reduced their fast food spending as a result of these higher prices, stifling demand.
In addition to the sandwich promotion, the chain will offer sweet and savoury footlong snacks at US$5 or less. Subway also revealed it will offer promotions via its Subway rewards loyalty program.
Doug Fry, Subway North America’s President, said, “Today’s diner is stretched more than ever, and too often that means a tradeoff on quality, variety or flavor to find an affordable meal.”
“At Subway, our definition of value is a mix of delicious options at the right price without compromising quality. Our menu is full of footlongs for every budget, and this new deal means our guests can get the sandwiches they crave at a great value.”
Subway has also recently upgraded its menu offerings as part of this customer-attracting strategy.
In July, the retail chain announced significant upgrades to its 2024 Summer menu, introducing new flavors and textures while reintroducing fan favorites.
Subway reintroduced the BBQ sauce as part of this campaign, returning after nearly three years. The sauce features a unique blend of black pepper, hickory smoke, warm spices and red pepper.
The retail chain also launched the new Cheddar Cheese sauce as part of this summer menu upgrade. The sauce combines cheddar, American cheese, and parmesan. It is crafted to enhance Auntie Anne’s Footlong Pretzel and Footlong Dippers or to drizzle over any footlong sandwich.
