UK- Long-running fast food giant McDonald’s UK has revealed plans to remove eight items from its menu in September 2024. 

The QSR chain will scrap Cheesy Garlic Bread Dippers, the McCrispy BBQ Smokehouse, the Double Big Mac and its bacon variant, two McFlurry desserts — the Milkybar Raspberry Ripple and Munchies Cookie Doughand two chicken shareboxes. 

McDonald’s also revealed plans to add new menu items from September 4. 

The new menu additions include the Twix Latte, a coffee-based beverage infused with Twix-flavoured syrup, caramel cream and chocolate bar crumbs. 

The fast food chain will also reintroduce Mozzarella Dippers and the Philly Cheese Stack burger. The Mozzarella Dippers will be available in packs of nine or three and will be served with a salsa dip.  

Introduced in October 2023, the Philly Cheese Stack Burger comprises of two beef patties, cheese slices, cheese sauce, grilled and crispy onions and pickles, albeit served on a toasted bun. 

McDonald’s also revealed it will reintroduce two McFlurry variants- the Twix caramel McFlurry and the Galaxy Chocolate McFlurry. The other returning item is the Chicken Big Mac. 

The new products offerings are part of the fast food giant’s strategy to diversify its product portfolio and offer a new experience to its customers. 

In May, McDonald’s UK introduced an anime-themed Happy Meal featuring Yu-Gi-Oh! X and Hello Kitty toys. The Happy Meal was available from May 8 to June 18. 

The limited-time menu offering was meant to appeal to a wider customer base, catering to the needs of both anime collectors and enthusiasts. 

In March, the fast food giant scrapped nine menu items to make room for seasonal offerings just in time for Easter. 

McDonald’s shed the KitKat Ruby Chocolate McFlurry, the KitKat Milk Chocolate McFlurry mini, the KitKat Milk Chocolate McFlurry, the KitKat Milk Chocolate McFlurry mini, the Raspberry and White Chocolate Pie, the Big Tasty, the Big Tasty with Bacon, Mozzarella Dippers with a salsa dip and the Mozzarella Dippers share box. 

The QSR company reintroduced the Galaxy Truffle Bunny McFlurry and the Hot Cross Bun Pie, popular items during Easter.
