USA- Pizza restaurant chain Papa Johns has renewed its contract with beverage giant PepsiCo for the next ten years, designating the beverage company as the exclusive supplier for its North American outlets.
The terms of the new contract mirror the old contract. PepsiCo is expected to continue offering signature drinks like Mountain Dew, Pepsi and Starry at the chain’s outlets.
According to both companies, the collaboration is set to enhance the pizza chain’s marketing efforts, with additional investment from PepsiCo.
This investment is expected to support the pizza chain’s growth strategy, providing incentives for new store development across the US and Canada.
The beverage company welcomed the move, reiterating the mutual benefit of the contract over the past few years.
Hugh Roth, PepsiCo Global Away from Home Chief Customer Officer, said, “PepsiCo is thrilled to extend our longstanding partnership with Papa Johns.”
“The perfect pairing of our refreshing beverages with Papa Johns delicious pizzas has created a winning combination that continues to delight consumers. We look forward to another decade of collaboration, focused on delivering exceptional value, innovation, service and customer satisfaction.”
The contract extension is a part of Papa Johns’ current restructuring of its strategic plan, which includes a review of its technologies and relationships.
The extension was announced barely two weeks after Papa Johns announced a strategic partnership with Loadmill, an AI-native test automation platform.
The collaboration aims to utilise Loadmill’s advanced AI technology to refine Papa Johns’ testing processes, ensuring a seamless customer experience and fostering innovation in their service delivery.
Kurt Millburn, Papa Johns Chief Supply Chain Officer, said, “Through the extension of our partnership with PepsiCo, Papa Johns will continue to offer our valued customers the variety of beverages they have always enjoyed, while driving operational excellence.”
“Our shared goal is to deepen customer attachment to beverages with orders, ensuring an exceptional dining experience for every Papa Johns customer.”
Founded in 1984, the pizza chain has grown to 5,900 locations in 50 countries.
The company is known for frequently revamping its strategy, often leading other QSR chains. It is the first pizza delivery chain to eliminate artificial flavours and synthetic colourants.
