UK- Coffeehouse chain Costa Coffee has introduced a select drinks range on low cost airline easyJet’s network.
The drinks selection offered on easyJet’s flights include the Cappuccino, the Salted Caramel Latte and decaf options. The range will be available on the airline’s 1,184 routes which connect 170 destinations across 35 countries.
According to easyJet, the partnership follows the airline’s plan of strengthening its food and beverage portfolio served across its network.
Cost Coffee views the partnership as a unique opportunity to access a broader customer base beyond the conventional in-store access point.
The coffeehouse chain also revealed the select drinks range are ‘ideal for flying at 30,000 feet.’
To celebrate the two companies’ partnership, Costa Coffee Master of Coffee Gennaro Pelliccia boarded an easyJet flight from London Gatwick to Rome. Pelliccia enjoyed the drinks together with passangers.
Pelliccia said, “It was an absolute pleasure to bring the Costa Coffee experience to life in the sky. Sharing a perfect cup of coffee with passengers as they embarked on their trip to Rome was a dream come true.”
“Our Italian heritage continues to inspire us every day to reimagine new coffee experiences for coffee fans all around the world. Collaborating with easyJet allows us to make every journey – even in the air – just that little bit more special.”
The partnership is viewed as a continuation of Costa Coffee’s brand recognition strategy. The company has aggressively launched new outlets, access points and drinks range this year.
Last week, the coffeehouse chain announced its Autumn menu, which features a selection of returning and new menu items. The autumn menu includes a returning Mapple Hazel drinks range and new sweet and savory options.
In August, the chain opened its upgraded Meadowhall Drive Thru outlet on Vulcan Road, Sheffield. In June, Costa Coffee announced the opening of its revamped Tooley Street store in Central London.
The chain revealed the revamped outlets to bring a modern twist to its coffee experience.
The revamped outlets feature modern touchscreen ordering systems and a dedicated collection point for on-the-go customers. These improvements, together with the modern interior design, complement the existing counter service.
