INDIA- Fast casual chain Nando’s has launched its first outlet in Hyderabad, marking its first location in the South Indian city.
The new restaurant, Casa, is located in Hitech City, Hyderabad’s corporate hub. It is open every day from 11:30 a.m. to 11:30 p.m.
The 2,088 square foot restaurant features South African art and furniture, which will offer what the company describes as a vibrant atmosphere for its 74 guests.
The new outlet will feature the typical Nando’s menu, including the popular PERI-PERI chicken.
According to Nando’s all sauces, marinades and bastings will be made with fresh, real ingredients, with no artificial flavorings and colorants.
The chain also reiterated it will continue with its practice of regular basting its flame grilled chicken to keep it succulent. The new restaurant will also be keen to customize its PERI-PERI during its final basting to the customer’s preferred heat level.
Sameer Bhasin, Nando’s India’s CEO, welcomed the move by saying, “We are excited to bring our world-famous PERI-PERI flavors to Hyderabad, a city known for its food diversity and love for spice. This opening is a milestone for us as we continue to grow our presence in India.“
“Our authentic flavors are born in South Africa but built for spice lovers in India.“
According to the fast casual chain, the move is meant to expand its presence in India bringing its signature dishes to the ‘food-loving city.‘
The launch of the new restaurant is a continuation of Nando’s expansion strategy in India.
In May, the fast-casual restaurant chain entered a joint venture with food service company K Hospitality. The casual chain announced it plans to open 150 outlets across India up to 2033.
The Hyderabad restaurant is the first outlet under this joint venture.
Nando’s revealed it entered into the joint venture because of the food service company’s expansive market knowledge, their supply chain expertise and reputation managing other fast food chains.
K Hospitality has an impressive portfolio of 500 outlets across India, employing more than 10,000 people. Its portfolio spans QSR, bars, restaurants, cafes, banqueting, food courts, corporate food services, outdoor catering and travel food and beverage markets.
