HONDURAS- Full service restaurant group Dine Brands International, which owns and operates IHOP restaurants and Applebee’s has revealed plans to open a double-brand restaurant in San Pedro Sula, Honduras.
The new restaurant will feature both IHOP and Applebee’s dining areas. It is scheduled to open on September 16.
The double-branded concept will offer customers the choice between Applebee’s casual dining menu and IHOP’s breakfast offerings.
The dual-brand restaurant will open under a multi-outlet development agreement with franchisee BLT Global Brands.
BLT Global welcomed the move, describing Honduras as an ideal location for the double-brand concept because of its vibrant culture and growing economy. The franchisee promised a unique blend of quality and comfort in an inviting dining atmosphere.
According to Dine Brands, the move is a reflection of its expansion strategy, which seeks to introduce dual-brand concepts in new international markets. Dine Brands announced plans to launch the dual-brand concepts in March.
The new restaurant will increase Dine Brands’ dual-branded restaurants to 13 across seven markets- Canada, Honduras, Kuwait, Mexico, Peru, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates.
The full service restaurant group also revealed it has secured agreements to develop 21 new locations before the end of the next financial year, 13 of which will be double-branded chains. However, Dine Brands continues to call on qualified master franchisees and developers to facilitate further expansion.
These new double-branded restaurants will include both new ones in travel centers such as airports and conversion of existing restaurants.
Dina Brands also revealed its focus will be on select Asian markets, especially Japan and South Korea. The expansion also targets the Spanish market and the Americas, especially Mexico, Brazil and Canada.
Scott Gladstone, Dine Brands’ Global Chief Development Officer and International President, said, “I am incredibly proud of the progress we are making to connect with and to expand to new guests around the world with the support of our franchisees.”
“By leveraging IHOP’s morning popularity and Applebee’s evening appeal, we can cover all day parts and bring delicious and memorable dining experiences with world-class service to guests every day.”
