AFMASS debuts in Uganda 

The upcoming Uganda edition, scheduled for February 11 to 13, 2025, at the Africana Hotel in Kampala, will mark the inaugural Uganda and Great Lakes Region of Africa Edition of the AFMASS Food Manufacturing Expo.

Co-located with the AFMASS Hotel & Hospitality Expo, this event will also cater to the Food Service, Hotel, and Hospitality industries.

With more than 4,500 visitors expected in 2025, the Uganda edition presents a prime opportunity for participants to connect with industry leaders and investors from Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, Ethiopia, and beyond. 

It aims to foster innovation, collaboration, and growth in a region poised for significant expansion, with its population projected to surpass 600 million by 2040.

This event joins the established lineup of the pan-African trade shows, already held in Kenya (since 2015), Zambia (since 2017), Tanzania (since 2018), and set to debut in Nigeria in 2025.

Kenya to host its 9th instalment 

Nairobi, Kenya, will host the 9th instalment of the AFMASS Manufacturing Expo Kenya and Eastern Africa Edition from July 2 to 4, 2025, at the Sarit Expo Centre, a prominent venue for expos and conferences in the capital. 

The 8th edition, held in 2024 at the same venue, attracted nearly 4,000 attendees and over 70 exhibitors from various industries, including food processing and packaging. 

Prominent companies such as Buhler Group, Freddy Hirsch Group, ABSA Bank Group, and Capwell Industries participated as sponsors, underscoring the event’s ability to draw regional and global players.

Just like in Uganda, the Kenyan edition in 2025 will be co-located with the AFMASS Hotel & Hospitality Expo. 

Additionally, the Kenya edition will also introduce a new trade show: the Africa Home & Personal Care Expo. This event will bring together manufacturers, distributors, retailers, and suppliers of new technologies that shape the future of Africa’s beauty, home, and personal care industries and beyond.

Africa’s growing number of households, rising disposable income, youth population, urbanisation, and increased purchasing power are expected to drive demand for locally manufactured and imported beauty, personal, and home care products,” the organisers explained, highlighting the show’s importance at AFMASS.

According to Statista, the Home & Laundry Care market in Africa is projected to generate US$17.4 billion in revenue in 2024, with laundry care accounting for US$9.28 billion. This market is expected to grow at a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 4.98% through 2029. 

Meanwhile, Africa’s Beauty & Personal Care market is projected to reach US$65.93 billion in 2024, with the Personal Care segment accounting for US$31.23 billion and an expected CAGR of 5.99% through 2028.

AFMASS explores West Africa  

The AFMASS Food Manufacturing Expo Nigeria & Western Africa Edition is set to take place from October 14 to 16, 2025, in Lagos, Nigeria, with the venue yet to be confirmed. 

This pioneer event will attract over 5,000 attendees from Nigeria, Ghana, Ivory Coast, Cameroon, Senegal, and other countries within the Economic Community of Western African States (ECOWAS) and the Economic and Monetary Community of Central Africa (CEMAC).

According to IMARC Group, a leading market research company,  the West African food services market reached a value of US$5.8 billion in 2023 and is projected to grow to US$10.9 billion by 2032 at a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 7.28% between 2024 and 2032. 

This rapid growth is expected to drive increased investment in the region’s food industry, motivating FW Africa to launch a West African edition of its successful AFMASS Food Manufacturing Expo.

Similar to the Kenyan edition, this event will also host the Africa Home & Personal Care Expo, which will provide a platform for players in the beauty, personal care, and home care industries to showcase their innovations, as well as the AFMASS Hotel & Hospitality Expo.
