INDIA- Retail conglomerate Reliance Retail has launched the premium café Armani/Caffè at Jio World Plaza in Mumbai, the first in South Asia and the fifth worldwide.
Armani/Caffè has a 52-person dine-in capacity.
The premium café is situated adjacent to the Giorgio Armani boutique. According to Reliance Retail, the new concept brings Michelin-starred Italian elegance to India’s financial hub.
The new location is designed in soft blues and greens accented with palm-print screens, offering a cosy and luxurious ambience.
The café offers classic premium Italian dishes, including Giorgio Armani’s favorite foods like Carpaccio di Gamberi e Sedano Croccante and Pappa al Pomodoro e Burrata.
The menu also offers Roman-style pizzas in different variations like Pizza Napoli and Pizza Medina alongside pasta options like Spaghetti ai Tre Pomodori, Gnocchi Alla Sorrentina and Lasagna Alle Verdure.
It will also offer a unique selection of 52 fine wine selection.
Jio World Plaza was selected as a preferred location because it hosts prestigious brands such as Bulgari, Dior and Louis Vuitton, making it an ideal location for Armani/Caffè. It also offers upscale dining options, including Si Nonna’s and Ladurée.
Sumeet Yadav, Reliance Retail’s head, welcomed the launch by saying, “Another dream takes shape as we open our doors to India’s first and world’s 5th Armani/ Caffe, proud of what the team has achieved here.”
“Located beside the Giorgio Armani boutique at the plaza located in the upscale Bandra Kurla Complex (BKC), Mumbai, the venue offers an Italian ambiance with muted blues and elegant palm motifs.”
The retail group entered the food industry in June 2022 through a strategic partnership with UK-based Pret A Manger, a partnership that has resulted in the opening of 19 stores.
In May, the retail conglomerate launched Muji Café, a minimalist Japanese concept, also located at Jio World Plaza.
The conglomerate also revealed plans to open EL&N’s first outlet in India in the last quarter of 2024.
Armani entered the hotel and hospitality sector in 1998 with a single outlet in Paris. It has since expanded to more than 20 premium restaurants, bars and cafes worldwide. The fashion brand boasts locations in Dubai, Doha and Milan.
