JAPAN – Premium coffee chain Armani/Caffe has entered the Japanese market with the opening of a new outlet in Tokyo’s Omotesando shopping district.

The premium coffee chain’s design features traditional Japanese lanterns and a platinum façade that provides a calm luxurious experience to customers.

The chain offers a selection of hot and iced Americanos, espressos and cappuccinos. The hot or iced Americanos are priced at ¥1,100 (US$7.67), with espressos and cappuccinos priced at ¥1,300 (US$9.06).

It will also offer a selection of classic Italian lunch dishes and desserts, including some of Giorgio Armani’s personal favourites.

Dishes such as Carpaccio di Gamberi e Sedano Croccante and Pappa al Pomodoro e Burrata are among the culinary offerings.

The new outlet reflects Armani/Caffe’s strategy of penetrating novel markets.

The Tokyo outlet was launched barely two weeks after the premium coffee chain launched an outlet in at Jio World Plaza in the city of Mumbai, India.

Jio World Plaza is home to prestigious brands such as Bulgari, Dior and Louis Vuitton, making it an ideal location for Armani/Caffè.

Armani/Caffe reiterated this penetrative strategy through an official statement, “Another dream takes shape as we open our doors to India’s first and world’s 5th Armani/ Caffe, proud of what the team has achieved here.”

“Located beside the Giorgio Armani boutique at the plaza located in the upscale Bandra Kurla Complex (BKC), Mumbai, the venue offers an Italian ambience with muted blues and elegant palm motifs. We will continue establishing such premium outlets in the future.

Since its inception in 2013, Armani/Caffe has been an important part of the Armani hospitality portfolio, which includes Armani/Ristorante, Armani/Lounge and Armani/Deli.

The first outlet under the Armani hospitality portfolio was launched in France and has since expanded worldwide with locations in Qatar, the United Arab Emirates, the US and India.

By the end of 2023, Armani had more than 20 luxury restaurants, cafés and bars globally, including locations in Doha, Dubai and Milan.

The Tokyo outlet is the 6th Armani/Caffe outlet and joins China’s Cotti Coffee, UK-based Costa Coffee, South Korea’s Hollys and Indian specialty coffee group Blue Tokai in launching in Japan over the last 12 months.
