USA – Food delivery platform DoorDash has launched a set of five new products and features to help its restaurant partners and merchants grow and expand their businesses.

The delivery platform’s commerce platform features the drive on-demand feature, which enables merchants to offer delivery services directly through their apps or websites.

The second feature is online ordering, which is essentially an avenue that enables merchants to provide free, digital sales and branding on their websites/apps.

The third feature is phone ordering, an AI-powered call-in ordering system for restaurant partners with menu recommendations.

The fourth feature is tableside order & pay, an option for customers to scan a QR code with their phones for increased order efficiency.

The last feature is the customer support solution, a dedicated delivery support platform for customer inquiries.

According to DoorDash, these new products enable merchants and restaurants to tailor these tools to their unique business needs and requirements, whether operating online or in-store.

DoorDash has also rolled out online ordering mobile apps, a feature that allows restaurants to create their own branded iOS or Android applications.

The new products are part of the delivery platform’s strategy of providing a seamless experience between restaurant partners’ marketing and ordering platforms, which it anticipates will go a long way in enhancing customer loyalty and encouraging direct ordering from mobile devices.

The delivery platform also announced it has revamped its business manager app with new features meant to aid restaurant partners and merchants oversee their businesses remotely.

The business manager app enables on-the-go management of DoorDash operations, featuring quick access to payouts, sales tracking, marketing campaign management, and a personalized homepage with recommended actions.

DoorDash hopes these new products and features will help support merchants and restaurants in driving more sales through their own channels, scaling operations, and maintaining a high-quality customer experience across all brand interactions.

Prabir Adarkar, DoorDash’s President and CEO, said, “The restaurant industry has faced significant challenges in recent years, and it’s more important than ever for merchants to find innovative ways to grow their sales and increase profitability.”

“The DoorDash commerce platform is designed to meet this need by offering a comprehensive set of tools that allow merchants to create direct channels — whether through online, phone, or in-store ordering — and build lasting, direct relationships with their customers.”
