UK – The largest pub operator in the UK, Stonegate Group, has announced the reopening of The Castle Pub in Bangor, Wales, after refurbishments and renovations.
According to Stonegate, the renovations and refurbishments required a six-figure investment.
The pub operator also revealed the renovations were meant to improve the pub’s amenities without compromising its historic brand identity and character.
The pub is located directly opposite Bangor’s cathedral. The Castle’s interior has been upgraded with contemporary designs, including energy-efficient LED lighting throughout the premises.
The six-figure investment also includes technological advancements. An audio-visual system was installed at the refurbished pub.
The renovated pub now features five booths, each equipped with high-definition televisions, providing a private and enhanced viewing experience for guests.
Apart from design and visual improvements, the renovated pub also features changes to its beverage offerings. The Castle now serves a diverse selection of craft and world beers, ciders, and cocktails.
The pub has also introduced a range of no and low-alcohol beverages, meant to cater to a wide range of customer tastes and preferences.
Sarah Hudson, The Castle’s General Manager, said, “These renovations align with Stonegate Group’s commitment to keep improving and innovating, meaning we can give our guests the best possible experience at our pub.”
“Our goal with this investment is to make our pub the ultimate destination for sports fans in Bangor. With a wide range of HD screens and great food and drink at competitive prices, we’re offering the best matchday experience in the area.”
Hudson reiterated the pub’s relationship with the local community and the Welsh heritage that is displayed throughout the refurbished restaurant.
She reiterated her optimism, especially during the autumn season. The GM revealed the restaurant had numerous events planned for the returning students.
The Castle’s reopening reflects Stonegate’s recent strategy of revamping its pubs, broadening beverage offerings, and attracting new customers.
In July, the pub operator reopened the Slug & Lettuce Pub in Albert Square, Manchester, following a £646,000 (US$846,082) refurbishment.
The Slug & Lettuce Albert Square venue now offers the brand’s signature flamingo pink and jungle green decor, with new seating booths and marble tabletops enhancing the venue’s aesthetic.
