SAUDI ARABIA – Premier winter entertainment extravaganza Riyadh Season 2024 has announced the launch of five zones for the public- Saudi Arabia, Türkiye, Iran, Africa, and Courchevel.
Riyadh Season is a series of cultural, entertainment, and sporting events held in Riyadh since 2019 organized by the General Entertainment Authority. The event is meant to enhance tourism in the country by supporting Saudi Vision 2030.
The 2024 season started on October 12 and is expected to run through March. The Riyadh Season 2024 features a 30% increase in zone size.
Riyadh Season 2024 has 22 zones in total, representing various cultures worldwide. It boasts 300 restaurants and cafes and over 890 shops.
Seasonal events in the season are dispersed into zones and typically involve music festivals, concerts, and sporting events.
General Entertainment Authority, which organizes the extravaganza also announced three of its zones have been revamped for the 2024 season- Boulevard World, Boulevard City, and Al-Suwaidi Park.
The new Boulevard World zone is open to the public daily from 4 pm to 1 am.
The sub-zone representing Spain, Egypt, and Italy in the revamped zone has also been upgraded with 21 new activities suitable for various age groups, including theatrical performances and showcases from several countries, enhancing its appeal as a unique entertainment destination.
The revamped Boulevard City also introduces unique entertainment experiences like PUBG Mobile which allows visitors to join a gaming team and engage in immersive laser battles.
Al-Suwaidi Park spanning 140,000 square meters will host a series of community-dedicated weeks.
The new and revamped zones were announced a few days after Saudia, the national flag carrier of Saudi Arabia revealed its renewed sponsorship of Riyadh Season 2024.
According to the airline, the sponsorship underscores its commitment to aiding Saudi Arabia achieve its Saudi Vision 2030 goals through enhancing tourism.
As part of this sponsorship agreement, visitors to the 2024 season will explore the innovative ‘Boulevard Runway‘ area, opening on December 15, 2024.
The Boulevard Runway features a Saudia aircraft and will offer different attractions, including 13 retail stores, 13 interactive experiences, and 5 restaurants, with a daily capacity of 9,000 visitors.
