USA – Multinational fried chicken QSR chain KFC has launched its new Original Recipe Tenders, double hand-breaded and seasoned with KFC’s secret herbs blend and spices with fries for US$5.
The US$5 value deal comes in a value box of three pieces, Secret Recipe Fries, and a choice of the chain’s two signature sauces.
Apart from the individual value deal, the chain has also unveiled a family meal option and a series of deals exclusive to KFC Rewards members.
KFC Rewards members can enjoy 13 days of special offers leading up to Halloween from October 19 to 31. The new individual value deal will also feature in this promotion alongside other favorites on KFC’s menu.
However, the fried chicken giant will distribute free Original Tendeers in select cities across the US, including New Orleans, Baton Rouge, and Atlanta in a strategic move. The chain revealed this surprise distribution is meant to directly challenge competitors offering similar deals.
The company has also introduced the new Comeback Sauce and the Sticky Chicky Sauce as part of this promotional campaign.
The QSR chain describes the new Comeback Sauce as ‘creamy and zesty.’ The Sticky Chicky Sauce also offers a sweet and tangy flavor profile. Customers can select either of the sauces as part of their meals.
KFC US also revealed it has introduced Cherry Pie Poppers, warm cherry pie filling encased in flaky pastry – and Cranberry Lemonade to complement the new tenders.
Catherine Tan-Gillespie, KFC US’ Chief Marketing Officer and Chief Development Officer, said, “We know consumers crave bold flavor and chicken tenders are a familiar favorite – that’s why we’re proudly proclaiming the deliciousness of our new tenders seasoned with our secret recipe of 11 herbs and spices.”
“And with an unbeatable US$5 deal, we think you’ll agree our new tenders are poised to win the chicken tender battle.”
The new menu items are a continuation of the QSR giant’s strategy of providing variety to its customers.
In August, the company expanded its Saucy Nuggets lineup in the US by introducing three new flavors- Honey Garlic, Chipotle Ranch, and Mango Habanero- as part of this strategy.
