Rebel Foods opens 160th Wendy’s Outlet in India

INDIA – Rebel Foods, master Indian franchiser for multinational fast food giant Wendy’s, has opened its 160th outlet in the country at BTM Layout in Bengaluru, India.

The new location brings the total number of Wendy’s locations to 20 in Bengaluru and 160 in the country.

According to the franchiser, the new Wendy’s outlet showcases the QSR chain’s digital-first approach to improving customer and staff experiences.

The new outlet has a 50-person sitting capacity and also features self-ordering kiosks for streamlined services. It also offers both takeaway and dine-in options.

The BTM Layout restaurant also offers the chain’s signature dishes, including the OG Spicy Aloo Crunch Burger, Flavour Fresh Premium Burgers, and the Frosty dessert.

In an official statement, E J Wunsch, Wendy’s President welcomed the opening of the new location. He reiterated the continued partnership between the chain and Rebel Foods has helped solidify Wendy’s presence in the Indian market.

He expressed confidence that the move will help to further enhance the company’s presence in the country. The CEO complimented the new outlet’s location, reiterating it will complement the recent openings in Logix Mall and Noida Restaurant.

Jaydeep Barman, Rebel Foods Co-Founder and CEO, said, “As we celebrate the opening of our new Wendy’s restaurant in Bengaluru, we are excited to expand the brand to reach consumers in a new market.”

“We plan to make the brand accessible to Wendy’s consumers across India while continuing to expand in areas where we already have Wendy’s restaurants. Our expansion plans represent a significant step forward in our mission to make Wendy’s the newest burger obsession in India.”

The new location is a continuation of Wendy’s aggressive market aggregation strategy in India pivoted on new locations and menu diversification.

It was announced barely two weeks after the QSR chain opened a new outlet in the north Indian city of Noida. The new Indian locations feature the recently introduced Chimichurri Burgers – a blend of Argentinian flavors with Indian spices in vegetarian and non-vegetarian options.

Rebel Foods also revealed plans to set up dine-in Wendy’s outlets in Delhi NCR, Bengaluru, and Hyderabad.
