Domino’s promotes Kate Trumbull to EVP, CMO

GLOBAL – Multinational pizza restaurant chain Domino’s Pizza has appointed Kate Trumbull as its new Executive Vice President (EVP), Chief Marketing Officer (CMO).

Trumbull’s appointment is a promotion from her chief brand officer role.

Kate’s appointment was announced barely a week after Arthur P. D’Elia resigned from the position.

D’Elia has agreed to remain an employee of the Company through March 31, 2025, to serve in an advisory capacity and assist in the transition of his duties.

Effective November 1, Trumbull will expand his role to oversee all global marketing efforts for Domino’s and will continue to report to Joe Jordan, the president of U.S. and global services.

This shift to the Chief Marketing Officer position aims to enhance the cohesion of Domino’s marketing leadership and extend the brand’s “Hungry for MORE” strategy into additional international markets.

The Hungry for MORE strategy, a focal point for the brand in 2024, revolves around four objectives summarized by the acronym MORE: Most delicious food, Operational excellence, Renowned value, and Enhanced by best-in-class franchises.

In the short term, Domino’s is prioritizing the value aspect as fast food chains compete for budget-conscious consumers.

Trumbull joined Domino’s from Procter & Gamble in 2011 and has led several notable marketing campaigns, as well as helped revamp the loyalty program.

Since its launch last fall, Domino’s Rewards has driven sales and attracted millions of new members. She has been the chief brand officer since March 2023 after advancing through the company.

Recent initiatives under Trumbull’s oversight include a campaign introducing quality captains—staff members who ensure that all pizzas meet standards before leaving the store—featuring Simon Cowell, a judge from “The X Factor” and “American Idol.”

Additionally, Domino’s recently revived its popular Emergency Pizza program, offering a free medium, two-topping pizza to Domino’s Rewards members. The latest version of this promotion is linked to The Glitch, a space in Fortnite for custom brand integrations managed by Amazon’s Twitch service.

In the third quarter of this year, Domino’s U.S. same-store sales, a critical indicator of restaurant performance, increased by 3% year over year, while international same-store sales saw a modest rise of 0.8%.
