Richtech Robotics to operate 20 Walmart-located restaurants in 3 states

USA – B2B AI-driven robotics solutions provider Richtech Robotics has announced it is set to operate 20 restaurants located in Walmart outlets in Arizona, Colorado, and Texas.

AlphaMax Management, a subsidiary of Richtech, is set to oversee restaurant operations using robotics and AI cloud technology.

To enhance its restaurant business model, Richtech has signed a binding letter of intent (LOI) with Ghost Kitchens America, which will grant them exclusive rights to manage restaurants located within Walmart stores.

This partnership aims to optimize restaurant operations, with each location expected to generate annual revenues between US$700,000 and US$2 million.

In addition to expanding in Arizona, Colorado, and Texas, Richtech has obtained operational rights for a Ghost Kitchen in Rockford, Illinois, and plans to open another Walmart restaurant in Peachtree, Georgia, by late 2024.

Ghost Kitchens International, which operates restaurants across Canada and the U.S., is planning to launch 240 new locations under the ONE KITCHEN brand in both countries.

In July 2024, Ghost Kitchens introduced Richtech’s ADAM, an interactive robot bartender, barista, and chef, at a Walmart in Dawsonville, Georgia. This marks the first of the planned 240 installations following a non-binding LOI between the two companies.

The restaurants will be operated by AlphaMax Management, a Richtech subsidiary, and use robotics and AI cloud technology to optimize restaurant operations, according to a joint statement by the two companies.

Matt Casella, president of Richtech Robotics, stated that this agreement will significantly enhance their restaurant portfolio, as these high-traffic locations will increase brand visibility.

He added that their operations will demonstrate the robotic and AI platforms provided through their robotics-as-a-service (RaaS) model, which is expected to develop into a substantial revenue stream as they expand operations to thousands, and eventually tens of thousands, of restaurants.

Richtech Robotics previously secured exclusive operational rights for a Walmart Ghost Kitchen location in Rockford, Illinois, and signed a franchisee agreement for a Walmart restaurant in Peachtree, Georgia, which is expected to open later this year.

George Kottas, CEO of Ghost Kitchens America, noted that all Walmart locations where they have agreements with Richtech Robotics show strong sales and consistent customer traffic.
