ADNEC Group unveils plans to acquire Royal Catering

UAE – ADNEC Group, a subsidiary of Modon Holding, has revealed plans to acquire 100% stake in Abu Dhabi’s Royal Catering Services.

The financial specifics of the acquisition have not been made public.

Royal Catering Services, a prominent UAE firm with the capacity to prepare over 50,000 meals daily and a workforce exceeding 2,500, has developed a strong reputation for delivering quality services across the region.

In addition to catering, the company offers supplementary services like accommodation, adding to its versatility within the sector.

By integrating Royal Catering with its existing Capital Catering division, the Abu Dhabi National Exhibitions Company (ADNEC) aims to expand its ability to manage larger contracts and serve a more varied clientele.

With Capital Catering already part of ADNEC’s portfolio, this acquisition is positioned to enhance ADNEC’s reach and offerings significantly.

As Abu Dhabi’s leading entity in exhibitions and events, ADNEC is expected to benefit from Royal Catering’s specialized services, particularly within the aviation, defense, and healthcare sectors.

This move will also enable ADNEC to boost production by incorporating additional catering facilities.

The acquisition supports ADNEC’s strategic growth goals by allowing it to secure larger contracts. Modon Holding, responsible for real estate development and managed by UAE sovereign investor ADQ as the majority shareholder alongside Abu Dhabi’s leading publicly listed company, IHC, is also a part of ADNEC.

Modon’s Group CEO, Bill O’Regan, noted that the acquisition aligns with Modon’s strategy to expand its portfolio and deliver premier services to UAE residents and businesses.

He welcomed the acquisition plans by saying, “This acquisition further reinforces our commitment to developing Abu Dhabi’s and UAE’s local economy.”

The deal coincides with ADNH Catering’s recent successful IPO and upcoming ADX listing, marking a significant moment for the UAE catering sector.

Humaid Matar Al Dhaheri, Managing Director and CEO of ADNEC Group, stated that acquiring Royal Catering is a pivotal step in strengthening ADNEC Group’s influence within Abu Dhabi’s catering and events landscape.

The move is expected to make the combined entity will be one of the largest and most competitive catering providers in the Abu Dhabi market.
