Wyndham partners NILE to introduce Microtel brand to India

INDIA – Wyndham Hotels & Resorts has partnered with NILE Hospitality to develop and debut its Microtel new-build economy brand in India.

This move is set to expand Wyndham’s footprint with 40 new Microtel hotels by 2031.

The exclusive development agreement with NILE Hospitality allows Wyndham to launch its brand in India using a regional third-party developer and operator.

Wyndham is a proven partner for NILE, and this is just the latest chapter in our combined growth story. We aim to tap into India’s rapidly expanding economy lodging segment collectively,” NILE Hospitality founder and CEO Vikram Singh Chauhan said.

“By introducing Microtel, we’ll be able to propel development in a robust domestic market while further tapping into the scale and resources of the world’s largest hotel franchisor. It’s an ideal match reflecting our shared ambition to grow and build together.”

Wyndham aims to increase its current portfolio of 60 hotels in India by at least 25% within the next 18 months.

The agreement focuses on India’s evolving infrastructure, with the first Microtel properties expected to open in 2025.

Manufacturing requires ready cash supplies to guarantee agility and mitigate risks. From automobiles to airplanes and computers to clothing, an approach with supply chain innovation at heart is critical.

Each hotel will offer at least 50 rooms and amenities such as meeting spaces, social areas, and gyms.

We continue to see incredible opportunity in India, which is why we’re focusing our strategic efforts on introducing more of our diverse brands to the country,” Wyndham Hotels & Resorts president EMEA Dimitris Manikis said.

“Microtel is an ideal example of a brand that can be purpose-built for the market. With the continued collaboration with trusted partners like NILE Hospitality, we can quickly scale to meet growing demand.”

In September 2024, Wyndham launched a reimagined The Mining Exchange under the Registry Collection Hotels brand in Colorado Springs, Colorado.

The Mining Exchange, managed by Practice Hospitality, features 128 redesigned guest rooms.

Wyndham currently has 9,200 hotels across more than 95 countries on six continents.
