The new members are dedicated to over 50 sustainability indicators aligned with global standards and the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.
The African expansion includes introducing properties, particularly in Botswana and Kenya, highlighting Beyond Green’s ongoing commitment to sustainability.
Beyond Green has made a significant move in Africa, including several andBeyond properties, known for their eco-friendly practices and community engagement.
These additions reinforce Beyond Green’s goal of using tourism as a positive change tool, emphasizing the core pillars of Nature, Culture, and Community.
andBeyond Nxabega Okavango Tented Camp, located in the heart of Botswana’s Okavango Delta, spans 61,775 acres. This luxury camp combines sustainable design with immersive wildlife experiences.
Elevated on platforms, the nine tented suites blend seamlessly with the surroundings. The camp utilizes 80% solar energy, and a cutting-edge Tesla Powerpack Battery Energy Storage System reduces its environmental impact.
andBeyond Sandibe Okavango Safari Lodge, another gem in Botswana, offers a solar-powered retreat in a wildlife-rich private concession.
The lodge’s architecture is inspired by nature, and 70% of its energy comes from a state-of-the-art solar power plant—the first of its kind in the Delta. Sandibe Lodge supports local craftsmanship, incorporating natural materials into its design.
andBeyond Xaranna Okavango Delta Camp, situated on a private island, features nine luxurious safari tents with private plunge pools.
This camp by Beyond Green operates with an 80% solar photovoltaic system, making it one of Botswana’s most eco-conscious properties. Its innovative energy solution ensures minimal disruption to the Delta’s pristine ecosystem.
andBeyond Kichwa Tembo Tented Camp, in Kenya’s Masai Mara, provides a unique front-row seat to the Great Migration. This camp by Beyond Green, which prioritizes sustainability, uses a solar-powered system to heat water and bottles its own water, eliminating thousands of plastic bottles each year.
The camp engages deeply with the local Maasai community, investing in education and healthcare. Organic ingredients from the camp’s garden enhance the guest dining experience.
Each property under the Beyond Green umbrella follows strict sustainability standards. They aim to protect natural habitats, empower local communities, and foster cultural heritage.
Lindsey Ueberroth, CEO of Beyond Green, expressed excitement about the new members, emphasizing that these properties embody the vision of using travel for a sustainable future.
Beyond Green’s recent growth includes an expanded partnership with andBeyond, a pioneer in community-based conservation. This partnership will see 23 new properties joining the portfolio, solidifying Beyond Green’s position as a leader in sustainable travel.
These properties are now part of the I Prefer Hotel Rewards program, which offers travelers points redeemable for rewards. The program is complimentary to join and encourages more eco-conscious travel choices.
