UAE – Local chai brand Project Chaiwala has broadened its presence in the UAE with a new location at Dubai International (DXB), Terminal 3, through a partnership with Lagardère Travel Retail, a global leader in travel retail and dining.
Operating throughout all concourses in Terminal 3, Project Chaiwala provides travelers with convenient access to its authentic Karak chai.
In Concourse A, it is incorporated within Treehouse Juicery, enhancing the café’s healthy offerings.
In Concourse B, it is featured in the lively The Daily DXB food hall, alongside popular local spots like Jailbird, known for its Nashville fried chicken, and the Italian restaurant St. Mia.
Additionally, travelers in Concourse C can savor Project Chaiwala at the locally inspired café S34.
For the first time, Project Chaiwala has introduced its celebrated Karak chai experience to an airport setting, offering international travelers at DXB a taste of the region’s beloved beverage, complete with exciting new twists.
Varieties include the Molten Karak, a rich and creamy blend of malty chai infused with cocoa, and the Karak Arabia, an iced chai infused with saffron.
The outlet also features the brand’s signature savory snacks, including the Desi Smashmosa, a deconstructed samosa, and Paratha wraps with an array of fillings ranging from butter chicken to Omani Chips, along with the famous Chilli Cheese Toastie.
Sweet treats are also on offer, such as their popular Dunkables, Cardamom Cake, Banana Bread, and Orange Chocolate Chip Muffin.
Project Chaiwala was founded to celebrate the tea-drinking culture of the UAE.
The co-founder, Ahmed Kazim, emphasized the brand’s commitment to blending traditional roots with bold, innovative flavors, creating a chai experience that is both nostalgic and refreshing.
He expressed excitement about welcoming global travelers to experience the multicultural heritage of the UAE and to join in their journey.
John Rogers, Head of Restaurants & Beverages at Dubai Airports, highlighted that DXB serves as a gateway to the world, and every interaction is seen as an opportunity to immerse travelers in Dubai’s vibrant culture.
He stated that with Project Chaiwala, they have brought a unique, homegrown experience to Terminal 3, combining authenticity with a modern twist.
He also noted that by curating local brands, they are not only enhancing the variety of options available at the airport but also sharing a piece of Dubai with each guest to showcase the best of the city.
