SAUDI ARABIA – Internationally acclaimed Japanese izakaya restaurant chain Zuma has announced plans to open a permanent dining location in December through a strategic partnership with hospitality investment management firm MJS Holdings.
After a successful pop-up in Riyadh in 2021, Zuma is set to expand its presence in the Kingdom with a permanent restaurant opening at the end of this year.
The renowned Japanese izakaya restaurant will debut in the heart of Riyadh’s King Abdullah Financial District (KAFD), creating a buzz among food enthusiasts and marking a key milestone in Saudi Arabia’s dynamic culinary scene.
Zuma Riyadh will bring the brand’s globally celebrated concept, found in cities like London, Bangkok, and Dubai, to the Kingdom.
The restaurant will feature three distinct kitchens: the main kitchen, robata grill, and sushi counter. Spread over two floors, the expansive space will be connected by a stunning spiral staircase, offering a lively atmosphere with a vibrant dining area, lounge, sushi counters, a signature bar, and a DJ counter.
In collaboration with MJS Holding, a prominent Saudi Arabian hospitality investment and management company, Zuma Riyadh will introduce its signature culinary experience to local diners.
The restaurant’s design offers a sophisticated yet relaxed environment, perfect for both intimate meals and group gatherings.
Guests can expect to enjoy Zuma’s iconic dishes such as the Tsubu-miso Gake Hinadori No Obun Yaki, a flavorful baby chicken marinated in barley miso and roasted on cedar wood, as well as the indulgent Wagyu Gunkan No Fuyu Torifu, featuring wagyu beef tartare and black truffle.
Founded by esteemed chef-restaurateur Rainer Becker and entrepreneur Arjun Waney in 2002, Zuma has established itself as a global leader in contemporary Japanese cuisine.
With locations worldwide—including Hong Kong, Istanbul, Bangkok, and Miami—the brand continues to captivate food lovers with its bold flavors and top-tier ingredients.
Zuma Riyadh adds to the brand’s growing footprint in the GCC, with existing locations in Abu Dhabi and Dubai. With its stylish ambiance and vibrant energy, the new Riyadh venue is set to become a must-visit dining destination.
As reservations continue throughout November, excitement builds for the grand opening of this culinary gem.
