INDIA – WAAYU, the first zero-commission food delivery platform in India has announced its expansion into Hyderabad and Secunderabad.

WAAYU’s expansion into Hyderabad highlights the app’s growth in the competitive food delivery sector. The company plans to collaborate with 3,000 active restaurants in the region, offering consumers seamless service without additional charges, while helping these restaurants generate more orders.

WAAYU operates on a zero-commission model, developed in partnership with the Open Network for Digital Commerce (ONDC), a government-backed initiative designed to support open and decentralized digital marketplaces in India.

By integrating with ONDC, WAAYU not only helps local restaurants but also aligns with the government’s goals of promoting digital commerce. This collaboration aims to empower small businesses and provide a sustainable, profitable framework for the restaurant industry.

The partnership between ONDC, the Telangana State Hotels Association, and WAAYU reinforces the need to challenge the high commissions and platform fees imposed by other food delivery platforms, which can create a barrier between consumers and restaurants.

According to a press release, this collaboration underscores the importance of providing a more equitable solution for both parties.

Mandar Lande, CEO and Co-Founder of WAAYU, emphasized the company’s commitment to eliminating commission fees and providing a more profitable and sustainable model for the restaurant ecosystem.

WAAYU has recently gone live on ONDC as a seller marketplace, gaining momentum in cities such as Mumbai, Pune, Bengaluru, and Jaipur.

The Hyderabad launch marks a significant step in WAAYU’s mission to transform India’s food delivery landscape. By offering a zero-commission model, WAAYU provides a cost-effective and sustainable option for both local restaurants and consumers.

As the app continues to grow, it aims to redefine the food delivery market in India, making it more affordable and supportive of local businesses.

Mandar Lande further shared the company’s vision, stating, “WAAYU App aims to revolutionize the food delivery market by eliminating commission fees, creating a more sustainable and profitable model for the restaurant ecosystem.”

“With support from national and regional restaurant associations, along with advanced, user-friendly technology, WAAYU is positioned to become the go-to app for restaurants.”
