BAHRAIN – Conservation-focused hotel brand Mantis has announced it will open Hawar Resort in December, a luxury eco-tourism beachfront concept prioritizing sustainability and offering guests land activities and water adventures while enjoying luxurious accommodations.
Rooted in conservation, Mantis pursues sustainable business practices and develops tourism products that are respectful of the environment and communities in which they operate reflected in the upcoming location.
Hawar Resort by Mantis offers a unique blend of eco-luxury and cultural immersion on UNESCO-recognized Hawar Island.
The resort’s 102 accommodations, inspired by the Bahraini tradition of Al-Korar weaving, include 40 rooms in the main hotel and an assortment of beach and overwater villas.
Each overwater villa, complete with a private pool, offers a serene, immersive experience, floating over the turquoise Arabian Gulf and surrounded by white-sand beaches and lush landscapes.
Incorporating Bahraini design traditions, the architecture uses local materials like limestone and lime-render and emphasizes natural cooling through cross-ventilation.
Tent-like structures, reminiscent of sand dunes and nomadic heritage, cast cooling shadows, creating a seamless blend with the natural surroundings.
A highlight of the resort is the Bear Grylls Survival Academy’s “Train Like Bear” Zone, where guests can engage in survival courses and outdoor challenges crafted by Bear Grylls and his team, fostering teamwork and resilience.
The resort also offers a variety of outdoor and water sports, including paddleboarding and kayaking, ensuring active experiences for all ages. Kids and teens have dedicated clubs, offering their own range of activities to explore.
For those seeking relaxation, the resort features a spa with soothing treatments, a scenic pool leading to the seafront, and a fully equipped gym.
Five dining options, including an all-day dining venue and a poolside grill, serve regional dishes and fresh Gulf seafood. Among them, C-Salt promises seasonal pop-up events and celebrity chef appearances, adding a unique culinary touch.
Hawar Resort by Mantis is committed to sustainable tourism, with initiatives like waste sorting, biodegradable waste recycling, and advanced water and energy conservation systems, ensuring minimal environmental impact and the preservation of Hawar Island’s beauty.
Set to open in December 2024, this eco-conscious resort invites visitors to experience the natural and cultural heritage of Bahrain in a thoughtfully designed sanctuary.
