USA – Fast food restaurant chain Jack in the Box has announced the return of Lance Tucker as Chief Financial Officer (CFO).
According to Jack in the Box, the appointment is effective January 13, 2025.
Tucker, who currently serves as CFO of Davidson Hospitality Group, has previously held similar roles at CKE Restaurants Inc. and Papa John’s International, Inc., bringing extensive experience in financial leadership and operational strategy.
The new CFO had previously served as CFO of Jack in the Box from March 2018 to July 2020, during which he was pivotal in implementing the company’s securitization strategy and enhancing shareholder value.
His tenure during this time was marked by effective leadership and strategic initiatives that positively impacted the company’s performance, as reiterated by the fast food chain.
Darin Harris, CEO of Jack in the Box, emphasized Tucker’s leadership skills, noting they align well with the executive team’s dynamic.
The CEO also highlighted Tucker’s strategic acumen as a crucial factor in fortifying the company’s financial position and advancing its objectives.
In his new role, Tucker will oversee financial strategy, planning, and operations, while collaborating with the executive team to navigate the evolving fast-food industry.
Lance Tucker expressed enthusiasm about his return, citing the company’s momentum and franchise relationships as key motivators. Jack in the Box’s new CFO also underscored his commitment to addressing franchisee challenges and fostering growth in a competitive market.
The appointment comes amid declining sales for both Jack in the Box and its subsidiary, Del Taco.
Comparable sales for Jack in the Box dropped 2.5% in fiscal Q2 and 2.2% in Q3, while Del Taco’s sales fell 1.4% and 3.9% in the same periods.
Despite these challenges, the company believes Tucker’s expertise will drive a turnaround and position the brand for renewed growth, according to an official statement.
Headquartered in San Diego, California, Jack in the Box Inc. (NASDAQ: JACK) operates and franchises approximately 2,200 Jack in the Box® restaurants across 21 states.
It also owns Del Taco®, the second-largest Mexican-American quick-service restaurant chain in the U.S., with around 600 locations in 16 states.
