EGYPT – State-owned Abu Dhabi Tourism Investment Company (ADTIC) has partnered with multinational hospitality company Accor to operate and manage the Sofitel Legend Pyramids Hotel, located near the Grand Egyptian Museum in Giza valued at US$100 million.
The 303-room property is scheduled to break ground in December 2024 and is expected to open in May 2027, according to Yahia Kotub, CEO of ADTIC.
The hotel project will leverage ADTIC’s extensive expertise in creating landmark hotels in prime locations.
This collaboration with Accor, Sofitel’s parent company, highlights the shared goal of delivering exceptional properties that blend seamlessly with their surroundings while offering top-tier service.
Accor and ADTIC aim to reshape luxury tourism in Cairo and strengthen Egypt’s position as a leading destination for both international and local visitors.
Kotub emphasized, “In partnership with Accor, we are crafting a transformative experience at Sofitel Legend Pyramids Giza, where the timeless allure of ancient Egypt meets unparalleled luxury.”
“Our dedication to excellence will not only elevate hospitality standards but also honor the beauty and heritage of this remarkable destination.”
As part of Sofitel’s prestigious collection, the Giza property will join a distinguished portfolio recognized for its refined luxury and French elegance.
Sofitel is renowned for its unique hospitality approach, blending sophistication with a distinctly French touch. The Giza hotel will be the eighth addition to the Sofitel Legend series, known for its grandeur and historical significance.
Sofitel Legend Pyramids Giza will also become the second Sofitel Legend hotel in Egypt, joining Sofitel Legend Old Cataract in Aswan.
The brand’s global presence includes properties like Sofitel Legend Casco Viejo in Panama City, Sofitel Legend Santa Clara in Cartagena, Sofitel Legend Metropole in Hanoi, Sofitel Legend People’s Grand in Xi’an, China, and the upcoming Sofitel Legend The Mozart in Prague, opening in 2027.
Maud Bailly, CEO of Sofitel, Sofitel Legend, MGallery, and Emblems, expressed enthusiasm for the project, stating, “We are thrilled to bring the Sofitel Legend brand to the iconic Giza landscape. This exceptional project will offer a unique fusion of luxury and history, creating a flagship destination that celebrates Egypt’s rich heritage.”
“We greatly value the trust ADTIC has placed in us, and together, we look forward to establishing a new landmark in Egypt.”
