MEXICO – Hotel Xcaret Mexico, a popular family destination on the Riviera Maya, has announced an ambitious US$700 million expansion project set for completion by the summer of 2025.
This investment will significantly enhance the resort’s capacity and offerings, solidifying its position as a premier choice for families seeking unique vacation experiences.
The expansion will double the hotel’s lodging capacity to 1,800 guestrooms, distributed across ten Casas. Each Casa is thoughtfully designed to cater to specific age groups, ensuring tailored experiences for all guests.
Options include Casas for families with young children, tweens, teens, and even adults-only spaces featuring exclusive dining options and private rooftops.
The resort will also increase its pool count to 16, including four rooftop pools, with designated areas for families, teens, and adults.
The addition of five waterslides promises extra fun for younger guests, while adults can enjoy serene, exclusive spaces.
“We’re committed to providing families with memorable vacations,” said a spokesperson for Hotel Xcaret Mexico. “This expansion ensures that every age group will find something truly special during their stay.”
The culinary offerings at Hotel Xcaret Mexico are also receiving a significant boost, with the number of restaurants doubling to 20.
Guests can look forward to continued excellence from Michelin-starred chefs like Carlos Gaytan at Ha’ and the debut of Paco Mendez’s Encanta restaurant.
For entertainment, families can enjoy a variety of new options, including a kid-themed “hotelito,” a teen club, and a 24-hour Xinema, combining dining with a movie theater experience.
Industry Context
This expansion aligns with the broader growth of Mexico’s hospitality industry, which is expected to increase from US$ 22.96 billion in 2024 to US$ 30.12 billion by 2029.
The hotel sector alone is projected to generate US$ 10.27 billion in revenue by 2029, reflecting a compound annual growth rate of 4.91%.
The Riviera Maya, already a tourism hotspot, continues to attract international visitors, driving demand for innovative and comprehensive resort experiences like those offered by Hotel Xcaret Mexico.
With these developments, Hotel Xcaret Mexico is setting a new benchmark for family resorts in the region. By combining expanded facilities, world-class dining, and age-specific accommodations, the resort ensures a well-rounded experience for its guests.
“This is not just an investment in infrastructure,” the spokesperson added. “It’s an investment in creating lasting memories for families from around the globe.”
