USA – Avion Hospitality, a growing hotel management company based in Plano, Texas, has officially assumed the management of two prominent Hyatt hotels on King Street in Charleston.

The properties include the 113-room Hyatt House Charleston Historic District and the 191-room Hyatt Place Charleston Historic District.

The acquisition, spearheaded by Highline Hospitality Partners (HHP), includes plans for significant upgrades to transform one of the properties into a boutique Hyatt brand.

Chuck Pomerantz, managing partner of HHP, expressed confidence in Avion Hospitality’s ability to meet their goals. “Avion has proven to be a strong operator for Highline, and we are confident in their ability to execute this business plan as well.”

Avion’s CEO and president, Robert Burg, echoed these sentiments. “We are excited to deepen our partnership with Highline Hospitality,” Burg said. “Our team is focused on delivering results for these hotels and ensuring a seamless transition for guests and staff alike.”

Both hotels are located in the heart of Charleston’s historic district, offering visitors proximity to South Carolina’s beaches and iconic cultural landmarks.

The properties share an 8,000-square-foot event space and feature the Pour Taproom Charleston rooftop bar, which provides guests with stunning city views.

Expansion and strategic growth

Founded in 2022, Avion Hospitality specializes in managing branded and independent hotels, focusing on delivering personalized attention and leveraging industry-leading tools.

The company’s commitment to maintaining a low ratio of assets to property support ensures its ability to devote resources to each property.

While solidifying its presence in Charleston, Avion has also been expanding internationally. 2024 has been marked with multiple expansion within Africa with multiple developments, including new hotels in Nairobi, Lagos, and Johannesburg.

These expansions align with Avion’s strategy to grow through partnerships and sustainable practices.

For instance, about a month ago, Avion launched its Green Initiative program, focusing on energy efficiency and waste reduction.

These efforts underscore the company’s commitment to environmentally friendly operations across its properties.

The collaboration with Highline Hospitality is set to bring exciting changes to the Hyatt hotels, promising guests an elevated experience while preserving the charm of Charleston’s historic district.

Both companies are optimistic about the future. As Pomerantz noted, “This is just the beginning of what we can accomplish together.”
