KENYA – Luxury hotel brand PrideInn Flamingo Beach Resort & Spa has announced the official launch of the Turkish dining concept Istanbul Beach Cave Restaurant in Kenya’s coastal city of Mombasa.
Located in a natural coral cave on Kenya’s North Coast, the Istanbul Beach Cave Restaurant offers a unique dining experience that combines the flavors of Turkey with the stunning coastal backdrop of Kenya.
As Kenya’s first Turkish-themed restaurant within a coral cave, it provides a distinctive cultural and culinary experience. PrideInn is responding to the growing demand for international flavors, reinforcing Kenya’s image as a destination that embraces diverse culinary traditions.
The rise in direct flights between Turkey and Kenya has contributed to a growing Turkish community in the country, driving demand for authentic Turkish experiences.
The Istanbul Beach Cave Restaurant is poised to cater to this demand, offering a familiar setting for Turkish nationals while providing a fresh, culturally enriching experience for locals.
The restaurant’s opening coincides with Kenya’s recent visa policy changes, which eliminated visa requirements for all international travelers, including those from Turkey, starting January 2025.
This move has led to a noticeable increase in arrivals from Turkey and other regions, with the Kenya Tourism Board projecting a 20% rise in total international arrivals by the end of the year.
The Istanbul Beach Cave Restaurant, part of PrideInn Flamingo Beach Resort & Spa, also aligns with Kenya’s peak festive season, a time when both local and international tourism typically experiences a boost.
With this new attraction, PrideInn Hotels expects higher occupancy rates not only at Flamingo Beach Resort but also at its other coastal properties.
Hasnain Noorani, Managing Director of PrideInn Hotels, Resorts & Camps, shared, “Our vision for Istanbul Beach Cave Restaurant is to offer a truly unique, culturally rich experience that draws both local and international visitors.”
“This addition further strengthens Kenya’s reputation as a destination that welcomes global experiences.”
During the launch event, His Excellency Subutay Yüksel, Turkish Ambassador to Kenya, remarked, “The opening of Istanbul Beach Cave Restaurant is a symbol of the growing relationship between Turkey and Kenya. With more Turks visiting Kenya, we look forward to cultural exchanges that highlight our shared values.”
“This restaurant will offer authentic Turkish cuisine and will undoubtedly be appreciated by both Kenyans and international visitors.”
