ZIMBABWE – Minor Hotels, an international hotel operator with a portfolio of over 550 properties across the globe, has announced the upcoming debut of its Anantara Stanley & Livingstone Victoria Falls Hotel in Zimbabwe.

This marks the first Anantara property in Zimbabwe, adding to Minor Hotels’ growing footprint across Africa.

The Anantara Stanley & Livingstone Victoria Falls Hotel will open its doors on December 1, 2024.

Located in a scenic conservation area, just a short 15-minute drive from Victoria Falls, this 16-suite hotel promises an intimate and comfortable retreat.

It is strategically positioned to complement Minor Hotels’ existing Anantara Royal Livingstone Victoria Falls Hotel in Zambia, offering luxury stays on both sides of the Zambezi River.

“This is a significant milestone in our efforts to expand Minor Hotels’ presence in Africa,” said Dillip Rajakarier, CEO of Minor Hotels and Group CEO of Minor International.

“Anantara Stanley & Livingstone Victoria Falls Hotel reflects our commitment to providing exceptional experiences in sought-after destinations, offering both comfort and access to one of the world’s most famous landmarks.”

Anantara Stanley & Livingstone offers elegant all-suite accommodations, each of which can be set up as a double or twin room, with some suites connecting to create two-bedroom units for families.

Guests can enjoy meals at the hotel’s gourmet restaurant, with options to dine in the garden, on the terrace, or indoors. A variety of drinks are available at the lounge and bar, which serves everything from cocktails to tea and coffee.

The hotel caters to both relaxation and adventure, with a range of family-friendly activities in the area. Guests can explore the stunning Victoria Falls, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the Seven Natural Wonders of the World.

Popular activities around the Falls include boat trips to Devil’s Pool, zip-lining across Batoka Gorge, and helicopter tours offering breathtaking views.

Wildlife enthusiasts can also take part in game drives and visit the nearby Victoria Falls Private Game Reserve, home to conservation efforts for black rhinos.

A Growing market in Zimbabwe

The Zimbabwean hotel market is seeing rapid growth, with forecasts predicting a revenue of USD 104.8 million by 2024.

The market is expected to grow annually at nearly 47%, reaching USD 711.9 million by 2029. The opening of Anantara Stanley & Livingstone Victoria Falls Hotel is a timely addition to the country’s expanding hospitality sector, which is attracting more tourists each year.

With the opening of this hotel, Minor Hotels continues to enhance its luxury offerings in Africa. The Anantara Stanley & Livingstone Victoria Falls Hotel joins Minor Hotels’ portfolio in Africa, which includes over 27 properties across the continent.
