EUROPE – Grand Metropolitan Hotels has appointed Dr. Philipp Rösler, former German Vice Chancellor, to its Supervisory Board.
This strategic move is aimed at accelerating the company’s expansion, particularly in Asia, as the hotel group seeks to strengthen its position in high-growth markets.
Dr. Rösler’s appointment adds significant expertise and a strong network to the company’s leadership.
His experience as a former Federal Minister of Economics and Board Member of the World Economic Forum (WEF) will play a key role in advancing Grand Metropolitan’s global growth, especially in markets like Vietnam.

Acquisition of majority stake in TOP INTERNATIONAL Hotels
Meanwhile, Grand Metropolitan Hotels is continuing its expansion with the acquisition of a majority stake in TOP INTERNATIONAL Hotels, a leading European hotel affiliation company.
This acquisition will enhance Grand Metropolitan’s portfolio and broaden its reach, adding over 400 independently operated hotels to its network.
The integration of both companies’ resources and expertise will create new growth opportunities, benefiting from TOP INTERNATIONAL’s established marketing and sales capabilities.
Hans R. Müller, the founder of TOP INTERNATIONAL, will transfer his shares to Grand Metropolitan starting January 1, 2025, marking a new chapter for the company.
Müller expressed his confidence in the partnership: “I have found a strong partner to carry forward the company’s legacy.”
