SAUDI ARABIA – Wyndham Hotels & Resorts has announced the signing of a new property in Makkah, Saudi Arabia, under its Ramada brand.

The agreement, in partnership with Al Mutmayzah Brothers Maintenance and Cleaning Co., reinforces Wyndham’s commitment to the Kingdom’s growing hospitality market.

The upcoming Ramada by Wyndham Mekkah Al Jumaizah will be situated in the Ma’abada neighborhood, just two kilometers from Masjid Al Haram, a prime location for pilgrims visiting the Holy City.

Scheduled to open in January 2026, the hotel will feature 347 guest rooms, designed to offer a mix of comfort and convenience to guests.

“Our expansion in Makkah reflects Wyndham’s ongoing commitment to providing quality accommodations for travelers in the Holy City,” said Panos Loupasis, market managing director for Türkiye, Middle East, and Africa at Wyndham Hotels & Resorts.

“This property will support our aim to enhance the midscale hotel segment while addressing the needs of religious visitors.”

The hotel will include various dining options such as an all-day restaurant, a specialty dining venue, and a lobby café. Modern amenities, combined with the property’s proximity to key religious sites, aim to provide a seamless experience for visitors.

Supporting vision 2030 Goals

The new development aligns with Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030, which seeks to diversify the economy and boost the tourism sector. The hotel is expected to create approximately 200 jobs, contributing to local economic growth.

“This partnership is a significant milestone for us,” said Mohamad Haj Hassan, Wyndham’s country director for Saudi Arabia. “Through our collaboration with Al Mutmayzah Brothers, we’re committed to enhancing guest options in one of the world’s most visited spiritual destinations.”

Saudi Arabia has positioned itself as a key global tourism hub, aiming to attract 100 million visitors annually by 2030. Makkah plays a vital role in this plan, with millions traveling to the city for Hajj and Umrah.

The Ramada by Wyndham Mekkah Al Jumaizah marks Wyndham’s third property in Makkah and its 14th in Saudi Arabia.

The company continues to explore opportunities for growth in the Kingdom, particularly in regions with significant tourism potential.

Walid Abou Sabaa, director at Al Mutmayzah Brothers, expressed enthusiasm about the collaboration, stating, “This project brings exceptional service and modern accommodations to Makkah. We look forward to welcoming guests from across the globe.”

As Saudi Arabia ramps up investments in tourism infrastructure, Wyndham’s strategic move underscores its confidence in the region’s hospitality market.

The growth of Makkah’s hospitality sector aligns with broader trends, including the market’s projected growth to US$16.91 billion by 2029.
