MADAGASCAR – Emirates is set to enhance its service to Madagascar by introducing a fifth weekly flight on the Dubai-Antananarivo route, operating between December 13 and January 10.
This expansion is aimed at accommodating increased demand during the high travel season, offering over 1,800 seats weekly to and from the island nation.
The additional flight, scheduled on Fridays, will operate as EK707 and EK708, connecting Dubai, Seychelles, and Antananarivo as follows:
Emirates began its Madagascar operations in September, and this seasonal increase highlights the airline’s focus on improving convenience for passengers traveling between Madagascar and its extensive global network.
“Adding another flight underlines our commitment to ensuring seamless travel experiences for our passengers, particularly during the high season,” an Emirates spokesperson said.
The new schedule aligns with Madagascar’s growing appeal as a tourist destination. Between January and August 2024, the country recorded 126,421 visitors, a promising number as it works toward its goal of welcoming 1 million tourists annually by 2028.
Madagascar: A destination on the rise
Madagascar continues to attract visitors with its unparalleled biodiversity, scenic landscapes, and rich cultural history.
The government and tourism sector have been collaborating to further enhance the visitor experience and promote the island’s unique offerings to global travelers.
The timing of Emirates’ expansion complements these efforts, making it easier for tourists from Europe, the Middle East, Asia, and North America to explore the island.
Emirates has made several noteworthy service enhancements in 2024. Alongside its Madagascar expansion, the airline is preparing to deploy its first Airbus A350 on the Dubai-Edinburgh route starting January 3, 2025. This marks a milestone in its fleet modernization, offering improved passenger comfort.
Additionally, Emirates has announced plans to recruit 5,000 cabin crew members across six continents this year, reinforcing its capacity to meet growing passenger numbers.
“We are continuously evolving to meet customer expectations and strengthen global connectivity,” the airline’s representative stated.
As Madagascar builds its tourism sector and Emirates expands its network, travelers can look forward to more convenient options for exploring this extraordinary island destination.
