ZIMBABWE – Minor Hotels is set to introduce its renowned Anantara brand to Zimbabwe with the launch of the Anantara Stanley & Livingstone Victoria Falls Hotel.
The hotel, opening on December 1, 2024, is positioned to provide luxury accommodations near the iconic Victoria Falls, further strengthening the group’s footprint on the African continent.
The debut of this property marks a milestone for Minor Hotels, which currently manages over 550 properties across 56 countries.
As the group continues its strategic expansion in Africa, this addition will be the seventh Anantara property on the continent, joining its counterpart, The Royal Livingstone Victoria Falls Zambia Hotel by Anantara, on the Zambezi River.
Nestled within a tranquil conservation area, the Anantara Stanley & Livingstone Victoria Falls Hotel boasts 16 all-suite accommodations designed for both relaxation and functionality.
Each suite offers the flexibility of double or twin setups, with interconnected options catering to families. Guests can indulge in gourmet dining at the hotel’s restaurant, which provides a choice of elegant indoor or scenic outdoor settings.
The property also features a lounge and bar, a lush garden pool with shaded seating, and seamless connectivity through complimentary Wi-Fi. These amenities reflect the group’s focus on delivering both comfort and convenience.
Victoria Falls, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the Seven Natural Wonders of the World, serves as a backdrop for a range of exhilarating activities.
Guests at the hotel can experience Devil’s Pool, zip-lining, and breathtaking helicopter tours over the falls. For nature enthusiasts, sunset cruises on the Zambezi River and conservation-focused game drives in the nearby private reserve offer unforgettable moments.
To ensure a hassle-free experience, the hotel provides complimentary transfers to Victoria Falls town, local airports, and nearby attractions.
The tourism and hospitality sector in Zimbabwe has shown strong growth, with the travel and tourism market projected to reach US$202.10 million by the end of 2024.
Hotels are a major contributor, accounting for an expected market volume of US$104.80 million. Industry experts anticipate that by 2029, the sector will expand further, driven by both domestic and international demand.
Dillip Rajakarier, CEO of Minor Hotels, expressed his excitement for the brand’s continued growth in the region. “This new addition showcases our dedication to creating exceptional stays in iconic locations. Victoria Falls is a destination that resonates globally, and we are proud to offer guests an unparalleled experience here.”
Beyond the upcoming launch, Minor Hotels aims to bolster its presence in Africa with new projects like the Anantara Kafue River Tented Camp in Zambia, set to open in 2025.
Currently, the group operates 27 properties across nine African countries, with brands including Avani, Elewana, and NH.
