INDIA – Leading on-the-go coffeehouse chain abCoffee has appointed Rohit Tiwari, a former senior executive of hospitality franchiser OYO as its new President of Operations.
Rohit Tiwari, with over 15 years of experience in scaling hospitality and customer-focused businesses, has joined abCoffee in a key leadership role to support the company’s ambitious expansion plans.
His professional journey began at Unilever and advanced through significant roles at Airtel, where he played a crucial role in expanding its network to over 600,000 touchpoints.
Tiwari’s recent experience includes serving as Director and Global Project Management Officer at OYO, as well as Vice President of Business at the e-learning platform PrepLadder.
At OYO, he demonstrated strategic acumen by enhancing operational efficiencies and scaling teams.
His tenure at Airtel Payments Bank further highlights his expertise in developing and managing expansive distribution networks—an asset that aligns with abCoffee’s goals of entering new markets and innovating customer engagement strategies.
According to the company, Tiwari’s appointment signals a new phase for abCoffee as it seeks to solidify its position in the competitive takeout coffee sector.
The brand remains committed to offering convenience, affordability, and quality, supported by efficient, technology-driven operations.
A spokesperson for abCoffee remarked that Tiwari’s extensive experience in distribution networks perfectly complements the company’s vision for growth and market expansion.
Founded in 2022 and headquartered in Mumbai, abCoffee has experienced notable growth since November 2023, securing US$5.4 million in funding to fuel its expansion.
The chain currently operates 77 small-format stores, primarily located in Mumbai and Bangalore, catering to India’s rising demand for convenient, on-the-go coffee options.
In June 2024, CEO Abhijeet Anand outlined an ambitious target of establishing 10,000 stores across India by 2034. Supporting this growth strategy, abCoffee partnered with Brigade Group in August 2024 to launch outlets within Brigade’s commercial office spaces in Bengaluru.
This partnership includes opening six new outlets, and enhancing the café experience for tenants and visitors within these properties.
With Tiwari’s leadership and strategic initiatives, abCoffee aims to capitalize on the growing coffee culture in India, further solidifying its presence in the market.
