BOTSWANA – Cresta Marakanelo Limited (CML) has invested approximately P10 million (US$731,373) to enhance its Cresta Marang Hotel in Francistown, Botswana, through the construction of ten new chalets.

This project underscores the company’s commitment to modernizing its facilities and improving guest experiences.

The investment, which began with the completion of four river-facing chalets in January, introduces elevated units overlooking the Tati River.

These structures, designed with a blend of modern aesthetics and advanced technology, reflect a focus on comfort and functionality.

According to Keikutlwetse Raboloko, CML’s Head of Projects, the design caters to evolving guest preferences. “The positioning of the chalets creates a tranquil atmosphere while ensuring high-quality accommodations,” Raboloko explained.

The next phase, set for completion by year’s end, includes six additional chalets, among them two family-sized units and a presidential suite.

As part of the project, 14 outdated thatched units are being replaced to align the hotel with contemporary standards.

Located in a prime spot in Francistown, Cresta Marang has long been a stopover for travellers from neighbouring Zimbabwe, Zambia, and South Africa.

“This investment symbolizes our commitment to maintaining Cresta Hotels as a premier hospitality brand in the region,” Raboloko stated. “It is all about offering guests greater comfort and a memorable stay.”

Cresta Marang’s P10 million (US$731,373) project is part of a broader wave of hospitality development in Botswana.

The Cresta Jwaneng Hotel, a 50-room, four-star establishment, opened in the diamond-rich town of Jwaneng in mid-2024.

Similarly, Singita Elela, a luxury lodge in the Okavango Delta, is on track for a 2026 opening and promises an exclusive experience in its vast 170,000-hectare concession.

With construction on track, the CML project will soon provide guests with state-of-the-art accommodations set against the backdrop of the Tati River, ensuring a unique and comfortable experience.
