USA – Leading plant-based meat company Rebellyous Foods has announced it has entered a strategic partnership with foodservice redistribution company Dot Foods to enhance the distribution of plant-based chicken alternatives to foodservice operators.
This collaboration leverages Dot Foods’ redistribution model, which enables suppliers to ship products in “less-than-truckload” quantities.
With weekly deliveries to over 5,020 distributors and a two-to-four-day order turnaround, the partnership eliminates the need for minimum case requirements, streamlining the supply process.
The alliance is expected to enhance the accessibility of Rebellyous Foods’ offerings for various foodservice venues, including restaurants, event spaces, institutions, and school districts.
Kristie Middleton, Rebellyous Foods’ chief relationship officer, described the partnership as transformative, stating, “Their expansive distribution network will enable us to reach more foodservice establishments nationwide, meeting the growing consumer demand for high-quality, affordable plant-based proteins.”
“Whether it’s a regional lunch spot, university dining hall, or family-owned restaurant, our products will now be more accessible than ever.”
Rebellyous Foods views this partnership as a chance for foodservice operators of all sizes to incorporate its plant-based products into their menus, offering consumers sustainable, healthier alternatives to traditional chicken.
Dot Foods’ senior business development manager Billy Bell expressed enthusiasm about the collaboration, calling Rebellyous Foods a valuable addition to their plant-based offerings and affirming Dot Foods’ commitment to supporting their foodservice growth.
This development follows Rebellyous Foods’ September 2024 launch of its Mock 2 production system, a cutting-edge technology designed to manufacture plant-based meat at prices and quality comparable to traditional meat.
This innovation is expected to significantly increase the availability and affordability of sustainable protein options, furthering the company’s mission to revolutionize the plant-based meat industry.
Founded in 2017 by former Boeing engineer Christie Lagally, Rebellyous Foods is a food manufacturing technology company focused on making plant-based meat price-competitive with traditional chicken.
The company aims to enhance production capacity while reducing costs, addressing barriers to mass adoption of sustainable proteins.
Dot Foods, the largest food redistributor in North America, offers 125,000 products from 1,020 manufacturers, with distribution through 13 U.S. centers, serving all 50 states and over 55 countries via Dot Transportation, Inc.
