SAUDI ARABIA – Japanese juggernaut restaurant chain known for izakaya, Zuma has announced it has officially opened reservations for the upcoming grand opening in Riyadh on December 16.
Zuma Riyadh is set to offer a sophisticated dining experience, seamlessly blending its signature Japanese cuisine with the vibrant cultural essence of Saudi Arabia’s capital.
The restaurant presents a comprehensive menu featuring beloved dishes such as fresh sushi, delicate sashimi, and nigiri, showcasing the brand’s renowned culinary expertise.
In addition to these staples, Zuma introduces an exclusive dessert for Riyadh: the Ajwa Date and Miso Toffee Cake, complemented by ginger crumble, poached pears, and sweet corn mochi ice cream.
This dessert is a unique fusion of local flavors and Zuma’s celebrated techniques, offering a distinctive gastronomic experience.
The two-story venue’s interior design reflects Zuma’s commitment to natural aesthetics and modern contrasts.
Crafted by acclaimed architect Noriyoshi Muramatsu, the space embodies a balance of nature and contemporary style, with subtle influences from the city’s own cultural landscape.
Located in the bustling King Abdullah Financial District (KAFD), the venue features three distinct kitchens: the main kitchen, a robata grill, and a sushi counter.
The design also includes dynamic restaurant and lounge areas, a signature bar, sushi counters, and a DJ booth that contributes to the energetic atmosphere.
Zuma first introduced its concept to Riyadh in 2021 as a pop-up during Riyadh Season, and now it has secured a permanent residence in the city.
Drawing inspiration from its Japanese roots and the unique environment of KAFD, the restaurant follows the successful model seen in other global cities like Bangkok, Dubai, and London.
The opening is spearheaded by MJS Holding, a prominent player in Saudi Arabia’s hospitality industry. MJS Holding’s portfolio includes renowned brands such as AOK Kitchen, Il Baretto, Jon & Vinny’s, Mr. Chow, and Rüya.
Additionally, the group is expanding its presence in the region by introducing new restaurants, including Gina, Il Bambini Club, Liza, and Perruche de Pariso. MJS Holding also plans to open Arcade Food Hall, already established in London’s Tottenham Court Road and Battersea.
