QATAR – Waldorf Astoria Doha West Bay has announced Elias J. Moukarzel as its new general manager, bringing decades of experience and expertise to the landmark property.
Moukarzel’s appointment aligns with the hotel’s dedication to luxury and exceptional service, positioning it as a key player in Qatar’s tourism landscape.
Moukarzel, a Lebanese-Russian national with over 20 years of experience in luxury hospitality, is a graduate of Ecole Supérieure Internationale de Savignac in France, where he earned an MBA in Hospitality Management and Tourism.
He also attended the prestigious Hotel School in Toulouse, laying the foundation for his successful career in the industry.
Having held leadership positions with globally renowned hotel brands such as InterContinental, Hilton, and Fairmont, Moukarzel brings a wealth of knowledge to his new role.
His professional experience spans multiple luxury destinations, including Monaco, Dubai, Beirut, and Doha, providing him with a global perspective on hospitality management.

Opened in January 2024, the 44-storey property combines art deco-inspired design with modern luxury. It boasts 283 rooms and suites alongside 50 luxury apartments, offering guests a sophisticated stay with panoramic views of Doha’s skyline.
The hotel’s offerings include a four-floor wellness center featuring salt inhalation relaxation, hydrotherapy pools, and dedicated fitness areas. A centerpiece of the lobby is the Tiffany & Co. clock, an homage to Qatar’s national bird, the falcon.
