COMOROS – Andy Fisher Workshop (AFW), a globally renowned architecture firm, has announced its first project in Africa, the Sofitel La Corniche in Comoros.
Nestled atop a volcanic outcrop, this luxury seaside hotel blends modern sophistication with traditional Comorian architecture.
Sofitel La Corniche boasts an exceptional design that merges the natural beauty of its location with local cultural elements. Each room offers unobstructed sea views, ensuring guests experience the serene surroundings fully.
The hotel’s structure integrates intricate local patterns and motifs, reflecting the rich heritage of Comoros while infusing the timeless elegance of French design.
“This project is about creating harmony between luxury and local culture,” an AFW representative shared. “It’s not just about the views—it’s about immersing guests in the beauty and traditions of the Comoros islands.”
The property sits atop a retail podium, seamlessly combining a tranquil retreat with vibrant shopping spaces. This design ensures visitors enjoy both relaxation and convenience, making it a unique destination for travelers.
AFW has long prioritized eco-conscious designs, and Sofitel La Corniche is no exception. The firm incorporated sustainable practices to minimize the hotel’s carbon footprint while maintaining a strong sense of place and community.
By blending thoughtful architectural techniques with the surrounding environment, the project exemplifies AFW’s dedication to environmentally responsible development.
“Our approach always centers around respecting the local culture and environment,” the spokesperson added. “This ensures that every project enhances its location rather than overwhelming it.”
Operating from Singapore, AFW has spent over two decades creating architectural landmarks across 30 cities worldwide.
Their portfolio spans residential, commercial, hospitality, and educational projects, with a focus on hands-on design and collaboration.
Earlier this year, the firm underwent a rebranding to AFW, reflecting its growth and commitment to creating meaningful spaces.
This change underscores its collaborative ethos, aligning with its mission to adapt designs to cultural and ecological nuances.
AFW’s projects are celebrated for their innovative and sustainable approach. Some of their prominent developments include Embassy Boulevard and Embassy Lake Terraces in India, the Hilton Hotel and Garden Inn at Embassy Manyata Business Park, and TARC Kailasa.
